| John E. McCausland, inc. has
been in business at the same location in Jacksonville, Florida since 1972.
We are the Manufacturer's of high quality hydraulic powered submersible
pumping systems, which we sell worldwide and rent to local customers. Our
system is made up of a diesel driven hydraulic pump, which connects to a
submersible pump powered by a hydraulic motor.
The rental business has offered us a great
testing ground for different applications, different types of products to be
pumped and different levels of use and abuse. This has allowed us to make
modifications and adjustments to our product line, to improve our products
as new and unexpected problems occur. We here at John E. McCausland, Inc.
are confident that we build high quality, easy to service and durable
equipment with some of the best features in the industry. The following
information describes some of the features of our system that meet or exceed
the industry standards for these types of pumping systems.
Our power units are powered by John Deere
diesel engines. They have a heavy duty frame welded construction with
lifting bale. They come equipped with a Murphy shut down system, which
includes an engine oil pressure switch, engine coolant temperature switch,
hydraulic oil temperature switch, and hydraulic oil level switch. These
switches will shut down the system before any severe damage occurs. The
hydraulic system has a heat exchanger to remove heat from the oil, and is
filtered to 10 microns. Our power units are also equipped with hydraulic
oil and fuel tanks that have baffles, sumps with gravity drains and
removable covers for cleaning.
Our submersible pump heads are constructed
with durability and performance in mind. Our pumps are all designed with an
easy to remove top motor plate to access the impeller and interior of the
casing. Allowing for easy inspection and removal of any obstructions. Our
pump impellers are dynamically balanced for optimum performance and the
larger pumps with heavier impellers have large bearing carries to support
the load.
These bearing carries and motors are both
protected by an external lip seal and an internal mechanical seal assembly.
The lip seal acts to protect against product in the pump casing entering the
hydraulic system. And the mechanical seal assembly seals the hydraulic
system from hydraulic oil leakage. These mechanical seal assemblies are of
the single spring type with hard faces which can be lapped to resurface the
sealing faces making them last virtually forever. This mechanical
arrangement is sealed around the motor shaft by a rubber bellows. This
bellows and the external lip seal are the two points of least resistance and
are easy to replace with a minimal cost compared to other seal arrangements
The mechanical seals and bearings in our
bearing carriers and motors are self lubricated by the hydraulic oil flowing
through the system. The bearing and seal housings are flooded with oil from
the hydraulic system and are ported for pressure relief. This case drain is
the third hose in the hydraulic assembly.
Our hydraulic hose assembly is made up of top
quality hose rated above the recommended operating pressure for added
safety. There is a main pressure hose, main return hose and case drain.
These 3 hoses are different sizes with male to female connectors to
eliminate any possibilities of incorrect setup. Hoses are in standard
lengths of 50 feet and are assembled with leak proof, quick disconnect
hydraulic fittings.
